In March, Kitamura launched a white-label version of the Synchronoss Personal Cloud under the name PicStorage. Kitamura is the leading multimedia retailer in Japan with over 1,000 locations. It offers image-related services and products such as cameras, photo printing, video dubbing, photo studio, photo books and more. The retailer has over 20 million paying visitors each year and approximately 10 million registered customers for its online services.
Powered by Synchronoss Personal Cloud, the new PicStorage is a subscription-based service that allows customers to store, manage, and share all their digital content securely in the cloud. In addition to content backup, the personal cloud service enables Kitamura customers to order various multimedia services.
Kitamura is another example of how Synchronoss is helping companies outside the telecom and mobile operators leverage the cloud and branded app to store and manage digital content. Assurant and Allstate Protection Plans are currently utilizing Synchronoss to deliver private-label cloud offerings. Additionally, the highly-scalable platform is widely used by millions of subscribers via Verizon, AT&T, Telkomsel, BT, Proximus and SFR.
