The annual technology pilgrimage to Las Vegas kicked of the new year, with approximately 115,000 people convening in the desert to get a glimpse on what’s next in consumer electronics, digital devices and services. The show seemed to have an extra-special energy, as droves came out in the wake of the global pandemic.

The Synchronoss executive team ventured west and attended CES 2023. After a stacked schedule of meetings with customers, partners, attending sessions, and walking the exhibit floor, here are several takeaways that will shape the digital landscape in 2023 and beyond.

Tech-Driven Environmentally Friendly
One of the key themes at the show emphasized the environmental impact of technology, and how it can be used to be more ecologically friendly. Many of the products showcased focused on sustainability and addressing global issues like access to clean water, food security, and energy solutions.

Emergence of Value-Added Services
With COVID-19 in the rearview mirror, telecom operators and mobile service providers are increasingly focused on value-added services beyond connectivity and devices.

The proliferation of smart homes and connected cars are driving the need for new types of broadband services that help consumers manage data, devices, appliances, surveillance and security, and other digital solutions, creating a unique opportunity for the cloud.

Personal cloud solutions, such as Synchronoss Personal Cloud, will continue to deliver a carrier-ready platform to power central hubs to store, share and backup all types of content and files, with the utmost in security and privacy (another prominent theme at the show).
Next-Gen Personal Cloud Solution Unveiled

At CES, we unveiled our next generation personal cloud solution. The enhanced Synchronoss Personal Cloud makes it easy for users to store and backup photos, videos, and other digital files between mobile devices and the cloud. New features and functionality such as BackTrack, Genius, and advanced highlights utilize artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning to manage and categorize content.

Our telecom operator and mobile service provider customers will be able to leverage these capabilities to deliver value-added solutions, driving new subscribers and increasing ARPU.

Artificial Intelligence Everywhere
AI was on display throughout CES, offering a broad range of applications and devices, such as smart strollers, smart bird feeders, and a broad array of smart appliances.

The recent launch of the latest ChatGPT technology was all the rage. The natural language processing technology was the center of many presentations touting broad implications for consumers and enterprises. Our Cloud offering has already integrated AI in a manner to enhance images through our Genius capabilities, creating new elements of art our of existing images.
