Mobile World Congress in Barcelona never disappoints. This year, at the largest and most influential connectivity event in the world, we showcased our next-generation Synchronoss Personal Cloud and Synchronoss Advanced Messaging platforms, purpose-built for today’s global service providers. The event provided an opportunity to meet with Verizon, AT&T, US Cellular, Softbank, Deutsche Telekom, Softbank, Orange Spain, Hutch Group, as well as other strategic partners and prospective mobile operators and carriers.

Artificial Intelligence is the New 5G

Throughout the show, artificial intelligence, or AI, was a hot topic. The technology is being utilized throughout the mobility ecosystem, including our Synchronoss Personal Cloud platform which enable carriers to offer premium and value-added services to securely backup and manage content stored on mobile devices.

Leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) the new Genius feature within the Synchronoss Personal Cloud platform provides tools to optimize photos. Users can colorize black and white photos, enhance photos, and touch up faces, among other effects. Another new feature, BackTrack, provides the capability to revert back and restore files if they are deleted, corrupted, or lost. Additionally, by integrating machine learning, the platform’s Advanced Highlights feature makes it easy to categorize and tag photos, videos, and other digital content so they can be easily highlighted, managed, and shared.

Security, Privacy and Messaging

Other prominent themes at the show were the need to deliver security into all aspects of the consumer experience and ensure privacy, as well as new ways to integrate messaging services. In particular, there is a huge opportunity for service providers to deliver turnkey solutions that take advantage of cloud and messaging.

Mobile World Congress offers a unique view into what is possible and what is next in mobility. Our teams in cloud, advanced messaging, and network management continue to innovate and we are excited to deliver new capabilities that are in the development pipeline.
