In the last 18 months, Synchronoss has gone through an extraordinary period of change and development. It has been an amazing experience to watch our team come together in trying circumstances due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and through perseverance and initiative, help to build a stronger, more resilient company. This extraordinary effort, in combination with our recent internal and financial restructuring efforts, means that we are now turning the page on a new chapter for Synchronoss; one that will provide us the momentum we need to drive forward and succeed in reaching our objectives.

This new chapter has enabled us to redefine our vision and roadmap. That starts by acknowledging that Synchronoss’ strength lies in our core skill set. Our priority is to focus on the areas of the business that represent the best opportunities for growth and consumer engagement: our personal cloud service offerings, our messaging solutions, and our digital products. More than ever, we want to concentrate on providing the best software solutions and services possible to help service providers engage with their customers and generate new revenue.

But it’s not just about the services we deliver. More than ever, we’re committed to supporting the people who make it all possible: our employees. We are focused on prioritizing employee health and well-being as we prepare for what comes next in this post-pandemic world. This means a greater emphasis on making sure employees have the right health and safety conditions and the right technology in place to empower them to deliver great work, remain productive, and importantly, remain fulfilled. The work environment has changed—hybrid working is here to stay—but we see a return to the office as a fantastic opportunity to re-ignite business relationships and to become an even more effective, creative organization. To help unleash creativity within our teams, we’re in the midst of our annual “Innovation Jam” which will culminate in early October with recognition of the best ideas for new products and feature enhancements. I have no doubt a return to in-person working will catalyze collaboration, leading to a new era of growth and innovation for our company.

Looking ahead, our ambition extends beyond the telecoms sector as we rapidly identify other industries that will benefit from our products and services. In the insurance space for example, we are already helping companies like Assurant and Allstate Protection Plans to bolster their insurance offerings by complementing their existing hardware protection policies with the protection of their customers’ precious digital content. We’re also seeing opportunities in the education sector; most recently, through our partnership with Telkomsigma in Indonesia, where we’re enabling students from more than 25 universities across the country to safely access, store, and share content via our Personal Cloud solution.

The arrival of 5G also brings with it a myriad of opportunities for our company—from the new and varied ways in which we’ll think about personal cloud, to the evolution of messaging, and digital services. The increased speeds, low-latency, high-throughput capabilities of 5G will unlock new revenues, and new possibilities, allowing us to enable better, more engaging experiences.

Although this is an exciting moment in our history, we can’t pretend it will be without its challenges. Despite this, I am confident that we will go on to exceed the high standards that we’ve set ourselves. I see a company ready for the future – and I look forward to writing the next chapter of the Synchronoss story with the amazing team around me.
